Have you heard? Leaders are not born, they’re made!

Leadership continues to be the hottest topic of conversation in business today.

It’s no wonder it’s become such a growth industry; it also appears that everyone is an expert on it with varied levels of experiences.  I think the days of judging leaders solely by their experience and ages are numbered.

I believe the most important people in any organization are its leaders.  This is contrary to what I learned many years ago when the mantra was that people were the most important thing.  While this is not incorrect, I’ve learned to recognize that leaders are the people that communicate and supervise the delivery of the organizational strategy designed for growth and the service of all its clients.

HOME DEPOT is second to none when it comes to leadership, not only are they the pace setter, but also an example to our community as they continually deliver on their promises to support our Veterans.

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMAG0957.jpgOn Saturday, August 15, 2015, a beautiful summer day, a team from the Home Depot reported for volunteer duty.  They spent the day performing small repairs in the home of a 100% retired disabled veteran.  MSG John Lewandowski, Retired and a resident of Winchester Virginia.  And if that wasn’t enough they also volunteered to beautify the property with 100 bags of mulch.

 ·         Donation.  Home Depot donated all the materials at no cost to the veteran

·Delivered.  Home Depot delivered all materials at no cost to the veteranb2ap3_thumbnail_IMAG0967.jpg.

·Worked.  Home Depot and its volunteers gave their time to do all the work as well

It must also be noted that the presence of another local businessman and entrepreneur was not only felt but extremely helpful; Matt Boley from Boliever LLC spent all day participating and being part of this magnificent team.  He serve d as a liaison between John and the Veteran community Resources, a non-profit organization that coordinated the efforts for the day.
